Winter Ball

Our Winterball Program has been instrumental to the overall success of our Softball Athletes and we are pleased to be able to host these sessions at the Crescent Point Fieldhouse (CPF)  again this season. The CPF is an outstanding facility, that allows our coaches to provide a high level of training in a safe environment that closely resembles game like conditions.  


Sessions will teach your aspiring Softball players how to; Hit - Bunt  - Throw  - Catch - Field ( ground balls and fly balls)  - Run Bases -  and HAVE FUN!!!!

Winter Clinics

FURY WINTER CAMPS

U10/U12 Registration now closed

Location: Crescent Point Regional Field House

Fees: $150 for 7 sessions

SUNDAYS: January: 13, 20, 27, February: 3, 10, 24, March 3

Times

U10 and U12 - 5:00pm to 6:30pm** (Jan. 27th 6:30-8:00pm)

U14 and up - 6:30pm to 8:00pm** (Jan. 27th 8:00-9:30pm)

**Please arrive 15 minutes early for stretching/warmup


Join us to prepare for spring season and have a lot of fun along the way! These sessions also include 3 evenings with players from the University of Calgary Dinos Fastpitch…always a highlight of Winter camp! 

Throughout winter camp we work on honing your foundational skills in hitting, catching, fielding, throwing and general game play, all while preparing for another fantastic season! 

PITCHING CLINIC- BEGINNER/ INTERMEDIATE

Registration opens October  3rd

Thursdays: January: 10, 17, 24, 31, February: 7, 14, 21, 28


Beginner/Intermediate Pitching 

  • 8 sessions for $125 
  • 7:00 – 8:00pm **
  • Max 20 pitchers 

**Please arrive 15 minutes early for stretching/warmup


Join us to learn the mechanics of pitching. This is ideal for players with limited pitching and game play opportunities. 

We will focus on the fundamentals:  

-Warm up techniques

-Introducing new drills

-Move from understanding the mechanics of pitching toward developing speed and power.   These sessions will be lead by our Fury Coaches – Mark MacDougall and Torben Sherwood. Both men have Level 1 NCCP certification and have coached softball in the Foothills from U10 through U19, and the Alberta Summer games team for 2018. This clinic will focus on foundational skills and teach both the pitcher and the parent the best way to develop skills and have fun!

***All pitchers MUST bring a someone to catch for them. The catcher will be learning how to support the developing pitcher correctly. A catcher WILL NOT be provided.***  

PITCHING CLINIC- ADVANCED

Advanced Pitching

 Elevate your pitching game to the next  level! Introducing Advanced Pitching Clinic Head Instructor, Lance Block. Lance comes from West Valley Softball in Calgary where he has been coaching and teaching softball for the past 8 years. Lance is a certified CANpitch Regional Pitching Instructor and Level 1 NCCP certified coach.   

We will focus on:

-Strength, speed and accuracy

-Pitch placement

-Working with a catcher

-Move beyond the fast ball / change up

***All pitchers MUST bring someone to catch for them. A catcher WILL NOT be provided.***



CATCHING CLINIC

Join us for 8 weeks of catching working with Catching Instructor Alissa Bender. Alissa has played community and club softball for many years, and most recently played for SAIT. Alissa has instructed our Catchers for a few seasons and we are looking forward to having her return this January.

We will focus on:

-Throwing strength

-Positioning behind the plate

-Framing

-Working with pitchers
