The 2020 Evaluations will consist of two components.

1) ALL players will take part in the skills sessions.

2) Based on their overall skill standings, some girls will be invited to part 2: the game play evaluations.

Once both components have been completed, teams will be finalized (early April) and your team coach will contact you.

REMINDER A $50 additional registration fee per athlete will be required if the U12 or U14 Tier 1 team is placed in the Calgary Minor Softball Association's Premier Division.

Girls MUST be registered for the 2020 season in order to evaluate.

  • No athlete will be allowed to evaluate if they are not registered.
  • Athletes MUST try out for, and be selected to play on a Tier 1 or Tier 2 team.
  • If your daughter is interested in trying out for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 team, they MUST attend the below scheduled evaluations for their age group.
  • Once selected to play on a tiered team players must be completely committed to their team for the duration of the season.

Pitching Evaluations

The Fury will evaluate pitchers during the game play portion of the Evaluations.

Please indicate they are interested in pitching on their Tier 1 Evaluation Form.

  • Pitchers MUST bring their own catcher for warm up.

Play Up Policy

The Fury believes that most players will develop better at their age appropriate category than at an age category above. We do recognize, that however rare, highly talented players may exist and want to provide themselves an opportunity to play in the next age category within the association.

  • Athletes wishing to play up MUST contact fury@foothillssoftball.ca and inform of their interest.
  • Athletes can only try out to play up if they are second year of their current age category.
  • We must balance teams, and any player who wants to play outside their category MUST evaluate in both age categories to ensure they can safely play with older athletes.
  • For an athlete to play up on a Tier 1 team they must evaluate in the Top 3 overall of the age group they wish to play in.

**PLEASE NOTE**

  • There are no guarantees that an athlete will be granted a spot on a team for an age category above where they belong
